About Us

Bereans,by conviction.

A Bible church in Keaʻau, rooted in God’s Word and led by the Holy Spirit. We’re a refuge, a place of worship and a real community.

Who we are

A church that doesn’t just study the Bible, but lives it.

Nestled in Keaʻau on Hawaiʻi Island, Berean Freedom Fellowship believes in the transforming power of faith, hope and love, and we try to live those out every day.

We are committed to following God’s commands as revealed in Scripture, while embracing the freedom we have in Christ to listen to and be led by the Holy Spirit. That balance of truth and grace shapes everything: our worship, our relationships and the way we serve.

Our mission is to spread the love of God and to be the hands and feet of Jesus in our community and beyond. We want everyone who walks in to feel welcome, valued and connected.

“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”James 1:27 (NIV)

What we believe

Four convictions that shape us.

Scripture

The Bible is our ultimate authority, our foundation for truth, growth and faith. We test every teaching against it.

Spirit

The Holy Spirit leads, convicts and empowers. We make room to listen and follow, not just to plan.

Family

Parents are the primary disciplers of their children. The church comes alongside them and doesn’t replace them.

Mercy

Genuine faith shows itself in action: caring for the poor, the widow and the orphan.

How we’re different

Simple on purpose.

  • House church. We meet in homes and on the beach, not in a building.
  • Volunteer-led. No full-time paid staff, so giving goes to people.
  • Family-integrated. Kids worship with us. Childcare only for under-4s.
  • Word-centered. Verse-by-verse, open-Bible teaching with room for questions.
  • Spirit-led. Unhurried worship and prayer, not a production.

FAQ

Frequently asked.

What time are your services?

Our worship gathering is every Sunday at 11:00 AM and lasts about 90 minutes, with a blend of contemporary and traditional music, prayer and a message from the Bible.

Do you have programs for children and youth?

Yes, though maybe not in the way you’re used to. Children are an important part of the church family, so they’re included in our main Sunday worship to experience worship, communion and fellowship alongside everyone else. We provide childcare in a separate room for children under 4.

How can I get involved in community service?

There’s always room for more hands and hearts, whether that’s food distributions, supporting local families or outreach events. Talk to one of our leaders after a gathering or reach out through our contact page and we’ll help you find a fit.

Who is welcome?

All are welcome. Whether you’re exploring faith, looking for a church home or just visiting, come as you are. You’ll find people who are glad you came.

How can I request prayer or counseling?

We offer prayer and counseling to anyone in need. Submit a prayer request through our contact form, or call or text us to schedule time with one of our pastoral leaders.
